Building Together: Setting Customer Success in Motion from the Start
Most products are tested on customers after launch. Few are designed with them from the start. When growth depends on referrals rather than repeat business, every part of the customer experience has to earn advocacy. So what changes when the people who will use a product help shape it from the very first idea? This session follows a customer-facing app built in partnership with residents in senior living. It starts with the first design question and moves through feedback sessions, idea sharing and early testing. It also maps a long customer life cycle, from considering a move to settling in and building routines in a community, and shows how that understanding shaped the interface. Through lessons from a live pilot, it explores why launch should be the start of learning rather than the end of design. It also looks at where AI is beginning to personalize onboarding, recommendations and staff communications. Key takeaways: → How to bring customers in as design partners, not just testers → Why mapping the full customer life cycle matters when referrals drive growth → Where AI can start to personalize the experience without losing the human touch
